Geez... I actually bid in the second one to go along with my 22240. Needless to say I didn't win! :banghead3

That first one used to be mine. I bought it for $105 and sold it a month later for $260. Two years later and it's worth $700+! The seller did not mention that the front wheel was cupped and that the drive was "weak" like I did in my ad. I wonder if the new owner will be pleased (or even notice) that fact...

I seems like everything is selling high on ebay. I seldom buy anything there anymore.

What's up with the prices? I'm noticing a few things with the LB's going for high bucks;

1) They are CLEAN looking machines. Some have been touch-up painted, but when it's the original green paint, that's bonus points. Everyone has it in their mind that a new LOOKING mower probably runs like new.

2) Clean also includes the bottom of the deck, for those that have detailed their machines well, and taken pics. Rusty blades and caked-on grass won't sell. Besides, that's extra shipping weight.

3) All, or nearly all original parts are on the higher priced machines. Carbs, tires, etc- no Mickey Mousing. That includes decals and shrouds that haven't been 'rose bushed'.

4) Speaking of shipping, that's what it takes for higher bids. Have shipping available to the lower 48. I don't look long at the ones that say 'Local Pickup Only'. That's what Craigslist is for. Also, keeping your shipping charge reasonable may get you higher bids. Weigh your options!

5) Video of machine running/ mowing lawn. Bonus bucks if done right.

6) Shill bidding in some cases......hey, it happens. Everyone should be informed when it does.

Just some thoughts, but that's why I see people willing to part with a bigger chunk of their money to get a Lawnboy.
