Hi, I'm looking at buying a Powerking 1618, it has a loader, 3pt, weight box, 48" mower, cab and tire chains. The unit only has 25 hours on the meter and looks like new. The seller is taking offers. What is something like this worth. I think it's a 1994.
Thanks... Greg

That's a nice tractor and decked out well with a lot of useful things. Price on these is all over the board. I'm better at pricing the older ones but I would guess around $4000 top end? Now, if the tractor has the manual 4 speed transmission, I just want you to be aware that it's the weak link in the tractor. Not saying it will automatically fail on you. There are folks who have never had problems with them but, more often than not, they do tend to self destruct. When they do, it's pretty expensive. These have a multiple disk clutch on them as opposed to the single disk that was used in the earlier tractors. Last I checked (several years ago) this assembly was $300. I do not believe you can buy the individual parts any longer. It's all or nothing. Not trying to scare you because that's a nice outfit you are looking at. I just want you to be aware of the shortfalls.

Loaders are around $2500 I think, maybe more. They are listed as no longer available so it's hard to give a price.
The decks go for around $1200 plus complete.

I think you see where this is going. Here's a link for the people that own the Power King name and inventory. You may want to contact Adam and see if he can give you an idea of worth. http://www.powerkingtractor.com/

Good luck.

Rubes, if its advice you need you came to the right place. JAS11964 knows his stuff, as do the others here. I just bought a '79 1612 (picked up today). What I learned here helped me with my decision and in my negotiations.

Good Luck, and have fun. These machines are like nothing else out there now, to bad, and that is what makes them unique.

Truthfully, I just get lucky. I have other resources so please, don't give me more credit than I deserve. I'm just the one that takes the time to look the answer up.

Thanks, I needed the price for a new deck since this one has never been mounted. Are transmission and clutch parts available, or should I just go to the powerkingtractor.com web site? I don't like hearing the trans & clutch are week for a tractor that has a loader on it. Would I be better off selling the loader and just keeping the mower?
Thanks... Greg

Transmission is fine. It's the clutch that is the problem. I would check the website for clutch parts before making your decision. I never had reason to buy one so my info is "iffy" at best.
