I'm new to tractors---Just picked up a Ford LGT 17H----Summer prodject---runs great, but the tin needs some work--How do i tell what year it is ????

There are two methods. There should be a tag on the front left portion of the frame. Grab the numbers off this. Also you can read the numbers off the engine tag. If the engine is original the codes on the tag will indicate the year of manufacture. Get those and come on back.

"140" in the engine serial number notes that it was from 1984.

The model number 09GN2204 was used from Jan 1983 to Dec 1984.

So I would say it is a 1984.
