Well, we made it to March! Winter is almost behind us, and spring is right around the corner. The days are getting longer, and the temperature is on the rise. That means its time to spend the afternoons tinkering outside again. No more huddling up by the space heater :D

We all know about James' loader, but what else are you guys gonna be working on in the coming months?

I have a few that I would like to do this year.

-Refresh and tune up the Onan in the SS/16
-Do a quickie resto on the 19.9 aka repaint, big tires, stack exhaust
-Restore my mower deck

What about the rest of you guys?

1.I am thinking about painting the hood on the SS18 and trying to get replacement decals for it.
2. I am tossing around the idea of adding hydraulics to it also as the manual 3 point gets old fast :)
3. The MF1200 needs a complete make over....strip and paint.
Try and figure out what I am going to do with the deck off the SS18 as I will never use it and its just to darn nice to leave it sit around and rot. { its the big deck}
Oh and follow Gt's loader build :) :eck21::eck21:

Well Hugh, I have completed the refresh on RED, and steering upgrade on Hulk II, and finally finished BMP (First full cutting this Sat).

I may be getting a 3pt tiller, and a Honda walk behind this weekend but more of a bordom solver than a real project.

I guess my Summer project will be adding another 12 X 25 to my shop.

I think my biggest will be rebuilding the cultivator, and maybe that mid-mount grader blade. Oh, and I have to figure out the no compression on my sleeve hitch tiller or repower it with something else. Tec H60, so it might be easy or might be parts time.

Lot's of big projects you guys. As for me, I WILL finally paint the hood on my Suburban 12 and decal it to finish off my video series. Need to lap the valves too. The biggie is to completely restore my Cub Cadet 147 start to finish. I've a little head start with a lot of the parts collected. This thing will have parts from CL, eBay, online Cub specialty shops...pretty much the four corners!

I'll kick it off with video #1 in a week or so. If I have time (yeah right), I've got a Sears and IH mowing decks both needing full blown restos

I have a few projects I have been thinking about;

1st and foremost, Snapper 21" 5.5hp b&s lawnmower, Get running right this year. I had a hay field last yr!
2) TB horse tiller, 6hp tec, rebuild the engine to redo front lawn.
3) SS12, Degrease and a new quickie paint job.
4) Sears-DB, make a battery cover and a decent paint job.
5) Ford LGT 100, Fix a few things, degrease, clean up then paint.
6) 86 Ford F-350, Maybe get painted and somewhat road legal this year so I can drive it again!
This probably won't happen though. :praying:
7) My Dodge and my girlfriends car need clay bar, buff, polish and interior detail.
8) Can't forget the hunny do list!

The list keeps going but those are the important ones I have had on my mind.:trink40:

My first project I want to do is make a full time puller out of my Roper 16T and rebody it as a '68 Super 12 (extended hood, dash, running boards, grille). Want to do this so I dont have to use one of my daily use ones and keep putting it together before the pull. Probably wont get a paint job before some of the pulls though because of mock up and testing, so it might be about 20 different colors for some pulls. lol Want to put 26x12x12 ags on it, tri ribs, dual exhaust exiting under the running boards at an angle, and possibly paint it blue and white like a Super 12.

I would like to restore my 48" deck for my '69 SS 12.

Possibly do a resto on my '67 Sub 10.

Get my stalled '26 T roadster pickup hoy rod project going again. 50s style wire wheels, mercury flathead v8, I beam axle and banjo rearend, and probably fenderless.

Oh and touch up my '86 F 150 again

So many things too... Or atleast I want to do.

My first Priority is to rebuild the engine on Christine. I have put about 250hrs on the tractor in the short two years I've owned it. I estimate the tractor to have around 3000-3500 hrs on it. She deserves a rebuild.

Here is my summer to do list:

1. Rebuild the engine in Christine. (Priority)
2. Hopefully Restore my SS/15 Like I've been planning.
3. Sandblast at paint frame on my truck (1994 GMC 1500)
4. Start restoring my other truck (1993 Chevy 1500)
5. Much more lol...

I will be working on both of my twin gt18's, already rebuilt carb on one. Fiberglas repair, paint, steering rebuild on both. Possibly some tranny work on the new one and either an electric actuator or hydraulics(probably an actuator for now) for a little down pressure on the front plow of my old big one. I'm sure I'll run into many more than that as I go. I've got a couple for my vehicles also to but since I've gotten heavily into tractors they always seem to get put on the back burners.

My priority is get The Ghost able to plow and disc my son's garden so he can plant. That is scheduled for March 24th. Once he can plant his garden I would like to:
1. Replace the roof on the garage / shop. There was fire in there about 20 years ago. The rafters are still charred. This is based on what the IRS send me back! I want to replace the rafter and have a room above the garage for storage. I have got to get stuff off the garage floor.
2. I want to rebuild the koi pond. This will involve moving rock, dirt, cement blocks, a tree and then tearing out a concrete pad it is all sitting on. Then putting it all back together. I will be tripling the size, adding a waterfall and a second pond to the area.
3. Put the grandkids in the cart and pull them around the yard! That will be an ongoing project that will never be finished!

In 2010, I designed and built a prototype of a 25 cubic foot bagging system, that can be used on any riding mower, or garden tractor, that has a rear bagger bracket on the back.

I used it for 2 fall seasons, and over this past winter, I have redesigned it a bit, in order to make the construction less involved. I have also added a dumping feature.

One very nice thing about it, is that the whole thing folds up to about 3" thick and hangs on the wall in my barn, when not in use.

I want to complete the new version, before I need my mower for summer cutting.

Then, its on to 2 vintage Jake snow blowers, an 8 hp, rear tine tiller, a few small engines and back on my crawler project. As long as I am as busy as a bumble bee stuck in a tar bucket, I`m Happy.

I guess you are talking about tractor projects....

1. Finish repair on 16's nose cone, repaint, get mounted on.
2. Mount Chevy alternator on 16
3. Build clamshell for the blade on 16
4. Build 3pt reciever hitch and maybe a couple implements.
5. Looking to buy a project ST16 which is totally torn apart, that will need to be
completely built.
6. Maybe getting a free Massey 7hp, that will be son's so not sure what will go on with
that.
7. Pull motor out of Tahoe and do a rebuild.

8.....a scroll type list of home improvement projects at my house and parents including building privacy fence, ramp at parents, paint parents big ole farmhouse, re-graveling their drive, build bedroom in my basmement for son, and on and on and on. My list never gets shorter it seems.

1. Do the spindle swap and front wheel bearing upgrade on my grandmothers 2004 Troy Bilt Horse rider.
2. Get the engine swapped in my Troy Bilt Horse tiller, (swapping out the K161T 7 hp pull start for an M8 electric start, the K is loosing power as it gets hot and pulling that rope is getting old.)
3. Put the stack on and get the tiller mounted on my Toro Wheel Horse Classic Series 310-8, oh and a seat.
4. Button up my dads Ford 3000 Diesel, (Full engine build, clutch, front end and power steering.)
5. Get my JD X485 back in mowing condition, (surging problem, pretty sure it is the fuel pressure regulator.)
6. Engine swap in my Walker.
7. Paint and re-wire my Farmall Super C, maybe restore the cultivators.
8. Finish the resto on my grandfathers SS/18 Twin.
9. Quickie resto on my 18/6, turning into GT/18 clone, new actuator for the electric three point.
10. Restore my Cub Cadet 582.

Joe
