This was laying in my grandfather's barn along with many other old chainsaws.
The wierd thing on this saw is that there is no name of the make of saw.
Anyone have one like this?, I am leaning towards a homelite but not shure is it worth anything? Thanks, Brian
Yeah,I googled an XL-12 and its not the same...does look like a Homelite gas cap and recoil on it..might be a later one after "Textron" took over Homelite,I had a small Homelite that was that red color and had that boxy look to it..
Some Craftsman saws were Homelites too for awhile..
My brother had a Sears from around 1975 that looked just like it.His was industrial yellow.I would say who ever made saws for Sears back then is the answer.
fwiw, Homelite, Homelight Consumer Products or TTi (Tectonic Industries (Ridgid, Ryobi, Homelite, etc.)) still makes stuff for Sears. The cordless drills and circular saws and kits at least, and at least one Craftsman tablesaw is the same as the old Ryobi BTS3100.
OK... well when I checked it last, I could only see the pic of the top of the saw... and that part where the plate is screwed in, looks just like where the air filter is on my Homelite.
Well looking at the rest of the pic's that I can see now, it defently does not look like any Homelite I have seen!! Maybe its some odd ball Pro model or somehting... But I am thinking its not a Homelite.
