Well, someone scratched the initials 'RWW' in one side with one of those electric scribes.

Them'd be some awful small chains. Each of those is about a quarter inch, and the saddles in there are about 14ga...

I am curious about the answer as well as I have one of those in my "mystery" tool box. I got mine as part of a bunch of tools from one of my aunt's boyfriends that was a car mechanic. She had a LOT of boyfriends, so no more details than that, came with the tools.

Oh yes one of them. Yes I used mine for 13 years. Than gave it to the wife and she lost it. Ya mine was red. Boy it worked great. If I could only remember what I used it for. I sure wish I could find it, I could have used it last Monday.

Since the jaws look to pass by each other I would guess it's to cut not crimp.

Here's a pic with scale. I think that this is a bit smaller than the tire chain tool.
