Ive always wondered what the primer bulb like thing is on top of my oil dipstick on my Bluegreass. Anyone know what it really is?

Maybe it's for siphoning out extra oil if you overfill it?

It is a Briggs accessory. You push the bulb and if you see oil it means there is enough oil in the engine. If you do not see oil it means you need to add some. You do not need to take the plug out to check. Roger
huh? Where do you see the oil? Does it pump it out somewhere?

I had one of those once, worked very well until the bulb dried out and cracked. Of course the paint makes it totally ineffective.
When you are on a level surface and push it down the oil rises when you release the bulb - as long as there's enough oil to cover the bottom of it. You see it through the neck above the threads.
