This has been a strange Winter for sure! I guess we have had 1 inch of snow so far, this past week has been 40 degree to near 70 degree temps, . 40 degree's today and upper 60's again by Sunday, amazing!
I like the temps , however, warm temps and no freezing with rain or snow does not kill off any insect population.
That means ticks several other species will be plentiful this Summer.
Enjoy your Weather, what or how ever it may be.

I have been going a litle crazy posting the snow map of this pending storm; but this does "up" my post #'s ;). Dark Blue= 3-6"; Lignt Blue= 1-3"; and pink= snow/ice.

This year's weather has been unpredictable, and most ProMet's are doing little more than nowcasting.

It's pretty amazing that I have had 44" of snow so far this season.

Looks like for the most part an ice storm for me overnight. We are under a Winter Storm Warning right now. The heavier precip will probably be here in about an hour.

WarningDate:11:40 PM EST on January 20, 2012 WarningSum:...Areas Of Freezing Rain And Sleet Increasing... Warning Message:areas of freezing rain and sleet are continuing to move across central Ohio. Expect an additional one tenth to one quarter of ice accumulations. Near steady temperatures in the middle 20s will cause slick and hazardous conditions on untreated roadways...overpasses...and other surfaces...like walkways. Hazardous conditions for driving and walking will likely worsen across the area as the freezing rain will continue to fall this evening.

Went down to 6°F last night then 50°F again by Sunday. :duh: Does though look like next week it will level back out some with lows in the 30F's and highs in the 40F's.

The older I get the better I'm predicting these storms about a day ahead without the use of fancy equipment. :fing32:

Mark- you are so right :fing02:

I have snow falling on existing snow over the most amazingly shear ice covering a lot of frozen stuff underneath. My ol' musculo-skeletal(sp?) setup has predicted each level/strata covering the gravel driveway... And I already am feeling a messy mix of precipitation coming Monday based on the aches upon aches today.

Thank goodness for HST and power steering.

Ended up with 0.13" melted liquid for the day most of which came between 1am -4am. Peak rain rate of 0.10"/hr. occurred at 1:47am. Made for messy driving but no real damage otherwise. Below is what it looked like around noon today.
