Hey All,

So as my tractor has no gauges whatsoever at the moment, it gives me a blank canvas to work from to build a console and out whatever gauges I want in it. I'm planning on using mechanical gauges over digital wherever possible. So that being said, what Gauges would you put in your tractor and any preference on brand?
So far my list is, tachometer, voltage, fuel, hour meter, water temp, oil pressure, oil temp, air pressure (it has air brakes and air tank) boost pressure, hydraulic temp - what else?

Thanks in advance

Fuel tanks are all sized and shaped differently and senders have a variety of resistance characteristics. If you're going to go aftermarket, make sure that you get a sender and gauge that match each other and that the sender is designed for the particular size and shape of the tank.

Not sure what kind of rig this is going on, but I assume is is a larger ag tractor. I'd replace the oil temp with a pyrometer. Also look into gauges that combine functions, like the tach/hour mentioned. I'd recommend electronic gauges over mechanical, at least for the pressure units. Vibration and abrasion are bound to give problems down the road. If an electric sender fails, all your oil doesn't leak out. Just sayin... -If- using mechanical, run copper or stainless tubing.

There are many cheap gauges out there which are hit and miss accuracy and quality. Good gauges are about 10x the cost, but will give you 10x fewer problems.
