what engine does stx38 have

Is it a yellow deck if so it has a Kohler 12.5 hp vertical shaft

the deck is yellow.
I dont think I have seen this engine before

what would you offer? all I know is that it does not run

Maybe $100 I guess it depends on what you are planning to do with it fix and use or fix and sell or even as a parts tractor but not any more than $150 if it is complete

I like that it has a Command engine but... I dont need any more mowers, unless it is like a 318 with tiller for 50 bucks!
Are transmissions on these like most lawn tractors or do some have 2-speed?

I told the lady i would try to get it running for them, but I did not know what to offer

I think the trany is a peerless correct me if I am wrong

I have only seen bad pictures of it.

Reading the old posts here I think it just the lawn tractor type.

Should be a 12.5 Kohler Command. Least that's what's in the one I just bought and others I've seen from various years online.

If it's a manual I believe it's a Peerless tranny.
