Just wanted to post a photo of my front yard after core aeration and overseeding (didn't hurt TruGreen had an application in there too). With the weeds gone and sporadic rain over the past few weeks, it has never looked better. I wish it could look like this year round.

Your yard looks great! I just aerated my lawn with my new to me 48" turf-aire. I replaced all of the spoons & it really works well.

Fantastic lawn, and a lovely home. You have a right to be proud. I just core aerated, fertilized, limed, overseeded, then top-dressed with screened compost. I hope for results half as nice as yours!

That looks fantastic!

Right now, mine is a "lush" carpet consisting of varying amounts of oak, maple, hickory, ash, and poplar. Hopefully, I can get it back to green this weekend.

Thanks for the remarks. I wish I could find some before pics. I can tell you this, the area you are looking at was rarely cut this summer because there didn't seem to be much to cut. Where there was grass, it seemed lifeless and matted down. After I aerated, overseeded and watered 3x a day for about two weeks, it looks like a different lawn. There is hope for all you who have lawns that your are frustrated with. I am currently patching some areas by the ditch near the road. I spread black dirt, seeded, fertilized and threw some straw over it. I have been watering it regularly. TSC has a nice landscape mix of grass that seems to take well. I had another bag of KY 31 fescue that I wanted to use up and threw it down with it. It does look kind of like patch work because the KY 31 is a lighter green. It still looks thick and green so I really don't care.

We need some rain around here pretty badly. I didn't get a chance to aerate the front yard and overseed yet this fall. I "plugged" the back yard (approx 1-acre) and noticed a good improvement.

Good photo-testimonial of the results!

I'm renting an areator machine over thanksgiving, I will apply winter fertilizer and do some overseeding. I know it's late in the season but I figured the grass seed will dig in good, freeze and then sprout in the spring. I did put down some seed on labor day weekend but I still have some bare spots. I had an awful July/August as far as the grass......

Considering buying a John Deere tow behind areator so I can use it twice a year.
