At the risk of sounding wishy-washy, I just spotted this on CL:

http://raleigh.craigslist.org/grd/3778082099.html

No more than a few hours after I decided to get my Simplicity 3112 up and going for the mower job.

It is a Western Auto mower with a 20HP Kohler Magnum.

As far as I can tell, it is one of the AYP tractors marketed as Ropers, Craftsman GTs, etc in the late 80s. Does that seem like a good price for it? I'm assuming that parts for an equivalent GT6000 will probably fit for the most part?

I will probably still work on the old 3112, but it would be nice to get something 'newer' that is ready to go for this mowing season.
How would this thing handle mowing on fairly hilly terrain? That is my current largest concern, as the hills around my new place are proving too much for my mid 90s Craftsman LT1000.

Thanks for any input!

Well, I just called and it already sold. Guess I was too slow.
