the plug is brand new and gaped correctly, the points are almost new. If the coil was bad I wouldn't get any spark at all right?


Any ideas on what I should check next?

If you pull the plug and ground it to the motor how's the spark look?

Could be the plug wire (or other electrical connection) and I think it could be a failing coil giving a weak spark.

For us idiots that do not know all the model numbers of the hundreds and hundreds of GTs out there, what engine is in it?

14HP Kohler according to WFM.

It's got the Kohler K321 14 HP

I do have a 212 with the 12 HP kohler. I think I'm just going to start changing out piece by piece to see if I can narrow it down.
