I've had my '76 Universal 445 for just over a year and I thought I'd do her a favor and get it serviced. Change all fluids, filters and grease all points. Well maybe it's just timing but my Bucket Cylinders are weak now. Going up works fine but down is really slow. Also it won't hold an angle. As an example if I try to scrape the ground in reverse, the bucket gives. It seams loose.

I would appreciate any help I can get to get this fix.

Fuzz out.

maybe got some dirt in the valve holding that side open slightly(not going to full neutral) or some air on that side of it. :fing32:

Is that something I can do myself? I followed the lines from the cylinders to the controls and didn't see any valves. I can move the bucket by hand and the cylinder rods retract.

Let me know how to check for dirt or bleed the air out.

Usually if there is air in the system it should cycle out.
If there's dirt in the valve you'll need to remove the line and take the valve out and clean it.

Old thread.

Any air will be bled out of the lines by cycling the cylinders in question full stroke 2 or 3 times. No need to open a line.
