Just came upon this on a search. This happened a year or two ago I guess, but I just had to ask!

Angry man shoots lawn mower for not starting
MILWAUKEE — A Milwaukee man was accused of shooting his lawn mower because it wouldn't start.:sterb003: Keith Walendowski, 56, was charged with felony possession of a short-barreled shotgun or rifle and misdemeanor disorderly conduct while armed.

According to the criminal complaint, Walendowski said he was angry because his Lawn Boy wouldn't start Wednesday morning. He told police quote, “I can do that, it's my lawn mower and my yard so I can shoot it if I want.”
A classic: “Hey Bubba — hold my beer and watch this!” moment…

Didn't read that one here, but I did read in the news a man who couldn't get a lug nut off is car. He shot the lugnut with his 12 ga and the shot ricocheted and he had to go to the hospital with minor injuries.

We did have a discussion and bottom line was that a man has a legal right to disipline a mower in this fashion but not his wife or his kids. Life ain't fair sometimes.

As a serial killer of weed eaters, this story troubles me.:D
Glad I live 'rural', more or less.
