Thanks for the referral, but I've already seen it, contacted the seller, learned about the transmission problems, and created a thread asking if anyone had any ideas, LOL. Thanks for the lead.There is a guy near Petersburgh NY (out east of Troy) on Route 2 and 22, that advertises "WTB" on craigslist in that area. Only reason I know, is that I have family in that area, so I check on the local T.B/Bolens parts when I go up there for a visit, and have seen his ad several times.
You might try to find his ad on craigslist, and see if he has anything for sale or any leads.
Great advice. I didn't know Albany had a Troy-Bilt plant, guess that makes them Albany-Bilt instead, but makes sense given how close Troy is. A bit of snooping shows that the plant closed right when Gardenway went bankrupt in 2001, coincidentally the last year of production for the Duratracs. Guess MTD didn't want that much quality in their lineup.Keep searching in the Albany and surrounding areas. The huge Troy Bilt factory closed many years ago, but they had sold many tractors at that location. I had bought one there myself. I'm sure there are still quite a few around.
