Hi everyone! My name is Hannah and I'm working props on a movie in Charlotte, NC. Our time period is 1970 and we're having a time finding a walk-behind mower from that time period and in this region. Preferably with a clippings collection bag on the back. If anyone has any leads please reply and thanks so much!!
Yeah mower in the pic is mid 70ish, not what you would want for a scene set in 1970. One other thing, the clippings bags for Lawnboy would be side bagging for the 1970 time period. To the best of my knowledge I don't remember any rear bagging going on with Lawnboy mowers during that time except for a super rare model.
Hannabanana: I purchased a 20" Snapper push mower about that time that had a bag that hung between the handle bars. Go to your local Snapper dealer and he probably can recommend someone that has one of these mowers. They are still around. Good luck.

model that is really very representative of that time period. I'm sure someone on this forum, who lives in the Charlotte vicinity, will respond to your request. Good Luck! Harry
I mowed lawns for a landscaper back then. We used the commercial version of the one above. Looked very similar, but had an orange gas tank between the handle bars. It had a 21 inch cut. It lasted much longer than the small tank built into the deck. Good luck with your search.
I would guess that you are looking for a Snapper or Toro rear bagger.
