Hello everyone I've just joined and seek help.

My 97/98 14 speed, MTD 50" throws the transmission pulley off periodically. This was happening regularly 2 seasons ago until I replaced the belt with an aftermarket one and it stopped. At the end of last season it did it again so I didn't think about it until now. Wondering what's going on here.

Also, the brake/clutch pedal releases real late. Maybe this is connected to throwing the belt off?

I'd suggest posting your issue down on the MTD section for review by those that are familiar with your machine. Should be able to help you with uor problem.
