He said he saw an oil spot in his driveway, the oil is full, is ther only the one other fluid ?? The tranny fluid.
I wonder if a hose is leaking but I don't see anything in my garage floor ?? I will look at the sight glass to see,are you supposed to check that cold not running ??
If a hose is bad where do I get another one or can I make up my own ???

If the spot is at your neighbor's but you do not have any sign at your house then I would suspect something of your neighbor's and not your machine is the source.

The hose for the site glass can be had at an auto parts store, but JD isn't that high on it.

Put a clean sheet of cardboard under it after you've warmed it up for a while. That should give you an idea of where the leak came from.

nope nada, everything is dry, must be something else
should the tranny fluid be check cold with engine shut off ??
Also i lost the hose that goes on the oil drain where can I get another or what should I use ??

Cold or warm with the engine shut off should not make appreciable difference.

Any piece of hose will work of the drain.

Sure. It may not last 20 years, but it's cheap if you happen to have some laying around.

5/8" inside diameter. JD parts catalog says 28" long, but long enough to clear the frame is really all you need.

Of course if you want the real thing, it's PN T64688 at $26.93.

Did you check the front hydraulic outlets?Maybe you leaked a little during hookup and it sat of the mainframe and mixed with snow and melted and ran off.Can look like a leak?

Yea all is dry, he called me this morning and said " hey I think the oil is from my walk behind blower, I sprayed oil on the inside of the chute last summer and I used it the other day and left it siting in the driveway to let the snow melt off, its right where I saw the rainbow stain " :thanku::banghead3:sorry1:

Sounds like the neighbor is a little anal, if that's what it was.
Surprised the DEP wasn't called out. :biglaugh:

Another reason I'm glad I don't have any neighbor's close by. :fing32:

Could be that the neighbor was trying to be helpful in letting him know he might have an oil leak on his tractor. Or this could have been the first step before he takes you to small claims court to replace his driveway. Hard to say.
