I recently purchased a brand new X300 with a 42'' deck. It is replacing a worn out White LT1850 made around 2001 or 2002 that I bought used a few years ago. I can already tell that the 18 horse Brigs of the White and the 18 horse Kawasaki are two different class of motors. This JD runs and drives like a dream. My dad bought a used x300 and I was sold on it the second I sat on it and started mowing.
I mow my residential yard, a couple of yards in my neighborhood and about 2 or 2.5 acres for an elderly lady at her farm. I saved all last summer to buy my new X300 with brush guard. I plan to purchase the bagger and a front mount thatcher in the future. I hope to be able to pull up the thatch and bag it all in one pass, anyone with any experience doing that? Oh and a single bucket holder is also on order for a late Christmas present. I plan to use that to collect sticks at the acreage as I mow and to carry tools or other items, like a hand pump pressure sprayer for spot spraying.
Here is a picture of my two babies, my almost 3 yr old daughter sitting on my new X300!
