hello all i usually hang out in the pk room considering thats what i own. yet today in my travels i ran across an old tractor. the guy i bought it from thinks its a sears. you boys would be the ones to know. i pick up my new toy tommorow so i will post pictures. but what i know about it right now is. it has a green grill a briggs motor probably a 10 or 12 horse. it is an older motor due to the fact that it has a starter/ generator. it also has an old mechanical 3 point lift which looks to be factory. so my main question is did sears ever make a tractor with a green grill. i know:wwp:

Horizontal shaft engine??..or Vertical??...I'd guess its a "Custom","Compact" or a "Suburban" if it has a horizontal shaft engine with a starter/generator on it..they came in a few different colors, but I've seen mostly orange, yellow, red, and blue ones..you might have a Bolens, they had some green ones..without a photo all we can do is guess..

Sorry to use your post to post my problem but I'm new here and could only figure out how to start a post just reply....

Anyway I aquired a free mower partially assembled. I took it down to the frame and rebuilt it and painted it to look like john deere.

The problem was that the deck and pulleys were already disasembled. I don't know where it goes or even if all the parts are there. I know its a craftsman and I think its a 36" deck. it has a briggs and straton engine. I'm trying to find the craftsman model number so I can get a manual.Or if anyone can help or has the same mower and can help me with some pictures or model number so I can get the right manual. the link above has several pics of the mower that was originally silver
