I went out to start up my MF202 Workbull this morning. It started up ok and was idling for less than a minute and I heard a clunk and it died. I can push down the clutch and it will start and run. But as soon as I release the clutch, it dies again. No noise this time, it just dies. Both shift levers are in neutral.

What could have happened?

Might seem obvious, but sounds like something let go in the clutch or transmission, perhaps a gear or other part has broken off and has jammed the trans????

Anything attached to the PTO?

If you put into low gear then release clutch does it attempt to make any movement of any kind before stalling?

Just guessing here.

One other thought. I had a small geared tractor where the shift fork let go and the tranny was bound up. Results sounded similar. This isn't helpful but hope this turns out to be a simple something or other.

Sorry, I never answered this. The problem actually fixed itself. I don't know what happened but it just started working oi again. That was six months ago and it's still working fine.
