Hey guys, Just thought I'd post some updates of my new truck. Well I've really done alot on it since I got it. What really took for ever was doing the frame. The frame on this truck was in good shape to begin with, But it did have its issues. The front of the frame was mint, but the back had some deeper rust from the back of the cab to the rear. I don't like to half ***** anything so I took the bed off and completely stipped the frame of the goose neck hitch, spare tire carrier, leaf spring hangers, shock mounts, and took the gas tank out. I replaced most of it, the other stuff I sand blasted and painted. As for the frame I spent atleast three days with a chisel and hammer, needle gun, and air chisel chipping rust off. Then I went over it again with the angle grinder with sanding disks and wire cups. After that I painted the frame with 3 coats Rustoleum professional primer and then 3 coats of the same Rustoleum in gloss black. Each coat got one day to cure and dry before I added the next coat. The frame gets alot of abuse from rocks, snow, salt, etc. So I wanted to do a quality paint job. And I really think it looks nice. It sure was a pain, but It will be worth it in the long run. After that came some some new parts. As of right now she has new shock mounts and shocks, new muffler and tail pipe, new brake & fuel lines, new leaf spring hangers, new e-brake cables and fresh brake pads all around. The brake pads weren't cheap that for sure! This truck is equipped with the 14 bolt G80 full floater and it has huge brakes on it. The pads are over 3'' wide and cost around $90 to do each side! Well after doing most of the mechanical work, I did some cosmetic work. I repainted all the fender flares, body molding, and bumper deflecter. I also got some new power towing mirrors, 4x4 decals, 3500 emblems, gmc and sierra tailgate emblems, sle cab emblems, and to finish things off I added some nice 454 emblems to the doors to let everyone know she's big block equipped! All thats left is to register it and put new tires on it and shes road ready! Well anyways hope you guys like it! Let me know what you think! Heres the pics! - Brad
