Troy bilt bronco - stuck in Forward gear

Hello everyone.

I just purchased a Troy bilt bronco and mowed my lawn with it today for the first time. When I turned it off to put it away, I noticed it was still in forward gear. I turned it on and tried to shift the gear to neutral, but it is stuck in forward gear and will not go to neutral or reverse.

The mower turns on fine, but it only goes forward.

I hope I didn't break it on the first day. Please help.
