I thought we should start a "look what I got for free" thread. Maybe we could sticky it? I thought it would be amusing to show everybody what people throw away.

Here's my first entry. I believe this is a suzuki powered toro? My dad says it runs well but the BBC rattles a bit prior to engaging the blade. It was one of our neighbor's. Later.

Hello

Parents found this one in the trash last Thursday. Tank was empty, put gas in, started in under 4 pulls, runs great! The more it runs the smoother it gets. It is amazing how quit the engine is when the blade is not on! The SP works like a Personal pace systems, the more you push it foward the faster it moves. These pictures were taken right after it was found. It would be a great mower for a lager yard.:trink39:

In certain neighborhoods like mine "Trash Picked" is just fine. But in certain other neighborhoods it is called "Curbside Shopping" :ROF

I remember when that mower came out. I worked for a Lawn-Boy dealer then, and remember setting a couple up for the showroom floor. I had one, but didn't keep it long. Too clumsy and awkward. I can't for the life of me remember what they called that automatic self-propelled system, but it had a special name.
If I remember correctly, this was also the only "F" engine to have an above-deck muffler if the mower had BBC, which mine did. The muffler had a tiny little outlet on it, and they sounded really wierd.

Looking at it from an engineering standpoint, it's almost an "M". In fact, I think the final year of this model was the year before the "M" series came out, or close to it. At the time, that was the most expensive machine in the Lawn-Boy lineup.

I've had a couple of those. They do sound kinda odd. They kinda gave me the creaps. Really sickly sounding... :hide:

Just found a guy giving away this Gold Series. Runs great, has mulch plate, discharge plate and the complete side bagger.

I've found about 19 mowers. Was able to sell 14 of them. These are the ones I have sold. I have a toro 2 cycle recyeler in my garage that I don't have a picture of. The other 5 I just get carbs, wheels, and other spare parts. I usually sell them for $50. I sold the Honda and the 7hp craftsman for $100. I've found a gas power washer and 5-6 weed whackers. Also, I found want I belive is a '72 Jacobsen.

I mowed my neighbor's lawn with a Jacobsen like that. His was front wheel drive and had a nice looking (albeit a bit bulky) orange plastic shroud on the engine. You had to "lift the hood" to fill the gas tank. That thing discharged better than any non-staggered deck mower I ever used. For a 3.5 HP Briggs engine, it really ripped thru the long grass too! I was pretty impressed with it.
