A friend has a Craftsman GT ( LS5500 #917.276884) that slips going uphill. He's determined the belt isn't slipping and it's in the transaxel. The manual says the transaxel is sealed and for replacement or SERVICING to remove and take to Sears for repair.

I seem to recall that other Craftsman GT owners (don't know model#'s) have changed the transaxel fluid themselves and extended the life of the tranny. Can this be done on this model and hoe do you do it?
Thanks

Is it the Tuff Torq K46? The guys over on the John Deere side have a sticky up that should help you.

I've seen the info on the JD forum re TT46.
Hhow can I find out if his is a tt46 or something else? The Craftsman manual doesn't say, and Tuff Torq isn;t listed as a mfg. on the sticky at the beginnig of this forum.
