will the old cast iron trans from the old Murrays,sears fit a john deere 212,214 .they look the same .

You will probably just have to compare the transmission model numbers, and see if they are similar. Personally, I've not known anyone who tried it.

he bought it,he is going to make one of the 2.his gears are smashed and mine are good.they are thr same other than the hubs and the brakes.

Frfom what I have learned (which might not be much) Generally there have been 2 model numbers of the Peerless 2300 series that were mostly used. The 2312 and 2351. There are several places I have seen with parts diagrams. Also if you have an extra set of 5 lug hubs with a 1" keyed shaft, I might be interested. Hope I helped.
