I have a JD 345 (circa 1998).

Can anyone here tell me what kind of Transmission and the number model...???

I'm beginning to notice some threads about John Deere Tranny issues.

I would feel better informed if I had info on my JD 345 Tranny....!!!

My gx345 has a sticker on the rear side of transaxle. Its a K71C model.

Not sure on the 345, K71 but if it has a dif. lock then it is a K72. The GX345 had the 72 I think. Same basic transmission. These hydros are designed for garden tractor use and last a long,long time if maintained and not abused.
Not the same thing at all as those problem units in the LA series.
