Tractor seat value for original Bolens HT seat

If one pops up for sale on E-bay .. be careful of who you buy it from .. There seems to be a sneaky Bolens Large Frame guy getting ready to sell one or more.

This question is directed to the moderator of this club or other athority, as it
is the oldest Large Frame Bolens HT tractor collectors club I have been able to
find on the web, and also the largest. I need to know the value and or average
selling price of the the original tractor seat if one was located. The original
embossed seat, or in fact another that will even fit the tractor, is not
available. thanks for your help.

You are correct. This tractor seat is no longer available from the manufacturer
nor has it been for some time. Although after market seats can be modified and
made to fit doing so could be dangerous as there is less support and no means
for adjustment.I have been in the Bolens business many years,and have sold these
seats when I could find them for as much as $400. When they come up on ebay, and
they rarely do, they bring between $300 and $400

Sounds to me like he is trying to inflate his already inflated prices for a seat he is going to be selling ..

He is also trying to deceive his groups members .. Kinda sad :fing20:

I guess the things I've heard over the years weren't so far off :fing20:

See this kind of deception really infuriates me, some people just have no sense of honor !

And to a lessor degree I've seen it happen here, not trying to stir the pot but why do people come here and post something for sale or ask for pricing on a tractor/parts or advice on fixing a problem then never come back or contribute any help or advice, heck even a thank you for your advice would be nice once in awhile.

A now former friend did this here after asking me where to get advice on his Wheelhorse and when asked why he hadn't been on in a few weeks his reply was "hey I got what I wanted so scr*w them they never did anything for me !"

Oh really so I guess the advice he got here and used to save him some money isn't doing anything for him !

I have no room I my life for people like this !

Sorry for the rant but this just put me over the top.

Thank you Ken. People never stop amazing me. It's a seat for goodness sakes. Not heroin, or human organs. The worst part is that someone will get tricked into paying that kind of money. Shame on them.

Oh yeah, and another thing. You can buy a seat on ebay for less than $100 right now.

The pity of it is that someone WILL probably end up paying that much, or more, depending on who is looking for a seat with "Bolens" on it, and how much they know about realistic value. I've seen some incredible prices paid for relatively rare items.

There were a couple of Large frame seats with "Bolens" embossed that sold just recenlty for ~$80ish dollars?

Ken i seen that post and thought the same thing.I have had a few of those seats in the past and never sold one for that kind of money.I wounder which style seat he is talking about.There were at least 2-3 style seats for the HT series tractor and all had bolens on them.Aftermarket seats would work fine and some of them are made by the people that made the bolen seats and are not unsafe to use.Now a good seat new aftermarket made by the maker that made the bolens seat will run around $110.

Now there is some parts,attachments and add ons out there that if it is new old stock or a hard to find item then it is worth the higher price a seat is not one of them.

I sell alot of used tractor and new old stock parts for about 10 years now.One thing i have noticed is the price of good used tractors and equipment are going up to were they are overpriced.Alot of this is because alot of people on all of these forums are over stating the worth.Now i don't mind paying a reasonable price for a tractor but those are getting harder to find.So as all know prices go up.

Sorry for the rant but this over stating prices drives me crazy and also runs the price up for everyone.From the guy buying the equipment to sell to the guy buying it to fix a problem they have with there's.

I have NO problem paying good $$ for a NOS item .. or a hard to find item ..

BUT to try to deceive the members of your OWN group of Large Frame owners ?? I just dont get it .. kinda makes me :thSick:

I posted a reply in the group ..and said how strange it was that the one asking about the seat .. and Bobby have the SAME last name ..

Not a very good liar if you cant even cover your lying tracks :fing20:

Wanna bet my post .. never makes it to the board ?? Since ever new post has to be OKed by him first !!

I have a near perfect seat on my 1974 HT20, I think I'm gonna take it off my tractor and hang it on the wall until the price hits five hundred. Wanna buy buy it Bobby. LOL
