Morning-here, my fellow 'gear-heads!!:howdy::howdy:

Strap yourselves in for a day's ride thru GM muscle car history....

Little background--We went down to the S/West coast of Florida,
for a (little fact-finding mission/research) back in February, to visit some relatives, and for some R & R. Whilst on he flight down--I'm reading an advertisement brochure, and Lo/behold--there is a full page advertisement for a car museum--about 20 miles south of our destination.:fing32::fing32:
Ok--Win/win --I'm thinking.......hehe--right down my alley!

One morning-Uncle Junie and I get up, eat breakfast and ride on down to
Punta Gordo, just south of him ...Here we are!!!!!

Rick Treworgy's Muscle Car City Museum

Wow--is all I can say!!

1st group of pic's is the merchandise area/ car's on consignment/waiting to be worked on....

Still walking and looking---
* First pic in this set is their 'work in progress' area--a whole 'nutha wing.
and then-Note the old fire-truck on the right-hand lift.
and
Chevelle/Malibu row.......sorry about some of the picture quality--the interior lighting was just at the point sometimes, my little flash wouldn't activate....:dunno:

Want some more?

This one was near/dear to my heart--I had a 68 (1/2) Chevelle, just like this one--mine was metallic green/black stripe along bottom of door. Same running gear--396/375 h.p.--4- speed 'rockcrusher tranny' w/ H/D clutch.
What a ride!

Ellis--There was a 70 Olds Hard top,(Hurst edition) w/ the W-31 option, if I remember correctly that was an Indy Pace Car that year--thought I had a side view picture of it--with the banner on the door, but I can't find it......:dunno: Must be getting old--so much to look at--I forgot the camera in my pocket sometimes....
That lady in your picture was crowned "Miss Hurst", I believe in Hot Rod magazine one issue one year....Help me out here--folks????....

How about a few more pictures of some serious Vroom/Vroom????

First couple pictures of the beginning of the REAL muscle car era, I think...

1961 Pontiac Ventura 2-Dr. Hardtop------street sleeper-They were called

-Big block engine/tri-Power/ 4 speed tranny on the hump--bench seats. Another one of his low-mileage rides.

OK--That's all--folks....for this thread. We left there, and headed back into town--stoped to get some liquid refreshment--headed home.

*****Not end of story, though--Uncle Junie had never been down to this place we just left--didn't even know it existed...

Well--The very next night we went out to an Italian night event @ the airport--and these men are taking folks from the parking lot to the eating area's in golf carts. I notice, this man driving our cart has on a 'Muscle Car T-Shirt".

You know--I got to ask right away--What's that place?? He says that he is one of the founding members of a Car museum ,right in downtown Venice, Fla. And it's open most every day.:fing32:

Ideal Classic Cars: Home - Venice, FL/

Well--we had to leave in two days, but I think it's going to warrant another trip--Ya know??/
Anyway--that's what happens when this home-body gets stuck in the house on a rainy/dreary day.:dunno:

PS--Got lots more Florida pictures--How about a big tractor show??? And some local canal scenery>
More threads later-Gator!!
