The 30774 is the model number and the 40286 is the serial number. You can get to the ipl's here
https://lookup3.toro.com/partdex/index.cfm?xCaller=Toro
After a page opens you can click on a small printer icon at the top left of the illustration and the page will reload to one that prints well. For priced parts lists go here
http://www.partstree.com/parts/
Put Toro in the 2nd box and the 30774 model number in the 3rd box. You can order manuals from
https://lookup3.toro.com/request/request.cfm

fluid for the governor? no such thing unless you count engine oil. If you pulled the crankcase drain plug and nothing came out then thats a bad thing, fill it to the full mark with correct oil. Points should be behind the flywheel.

you are mistaken this engine has an external belt driven gov and a distributer. what i need to know is the point setting , timing setting and where the mark is , also how to check and what kind of fluid the gov takes.

Go back to https://lookup3.toro.com/request/request.cfm
and use 91-20RG01 for a model number and type none in the serial # box. The D-250 Wheel Horse tractor used a similar engine. The service manual can be downloaded but it is 34MB and 105 pages. If you are on dial up let me know and will look for the info you need and pull those pages out and send to you. I am guessing the info you want is in it.

Hello everyone,

I tried to get ignition parts at both the sites provided by Gwest_ca and no luck. Even used Badninja's serial and product numbers in case mine were wrong. Any other ideas, pretty please, my toro won't run :(
