Picked up this Toro a few weeks ago for $25. Started and ran, but the blade clutch was slipping and the carburetor leaked. All fixed now (more on that later) and the mower cleaned up extremely well. The condition is incredible for an original paint job. I touched it up a bit at the lower edges of the deck and de-rusted the handlebars, but other than that it's 100% factory.

Is this model considered "collectible", or does that only apply to the commercial models with Suzuki engines? Any ideas what it's worth?

With how clean it is I'd think it's worth at least $100. What lowers the value in my opinion is that it doesn't have the convertible bag chute. Also an issue (but only to people on this site) is that that engine is hard to find parts for.

That looks pretty nice. Great score for $25. The original finish on the handle was chrome I'm assuming?

Correct. I painted the handle with a "chrome" paint, but I don't like how it looks. Not as good as the original finish. I'll probably remove it...

I agree. It's not horrible by any means, just not the nice chromed finish. Wonder how it would look black..
Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't be too off put by it though for what you got it for and have into it! It's a very nice looking old Toro.
