Hello Everybody!
I just acquired a John Deere 116 Lawn Tractor for use mowing a couple of acres where I just moved to in southeast Monroe County in Pennsylvania, and for doing some yard chores; and possibly for mowing the lawns on a couple of other houses I just acquired in the county.
I'll have to get a trailer to move it around to those places though, and I'm keeping an eye out for one of those.
The tractor is not running right now. The battery is dead and when I attempted to jump start it, and turned the key, it just made a click. I'm thinking that might be a bad starter or solinoid.
The person I got it from told me it was running, but the belt on the cutter deck kept popping off, so when I do get it running, I'll have to check that out.
I'm also going to see if I can get the manuals for it. I checked Deere's website and I found out they don't have them there in electronic format. I believe this model was made between 1981 and 1985. I'm going to go get the serial number off it now to pin it down.
I found this forum while looking for information about this tractor; and it looks like you have quite a body of knowledge and knowledgeable people here, so I'm looking forward to joining the group and sharing ideas.
