Tire size meaning?

11255 Views 3 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  KHodges
Lawn tractor tire size on my mower is 23 x 9.5 x 12. This may be a stupid question but what does each number mean? Is the 12 the height of the rim? Just always wondered this and never knew. :thanku:

You are correct 12 is the rim size and 9.5 is the width.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the 23 the overall installed height of 23"?
Lawn tractor tire size on my mower is 23 x 9.5 x 12.
23= approx diameter of the installed, INFLATED tire, at its tallest point

9.50 = approx width across the tread

12 = wheel diameter
