Hi all, I recently bought a blower for my 74 ss16. Does anyone know what size chains it takes? In stupid when it comes to anything tire related. What size would I search for? TIA

HINT; What size tires are the chains for?

Some SS16's had 23X10.5X12's and some 23X9.5X12 originally. This late in the game you will need to read the size off the tires on your tractor that you wish to buy chains for.
The sidewall of your rear tires should say something like 23x10x12. Then go to Tractor Supply or Amazon and search for tire chains with the size of your tire. I recommend 2-link chains as they have twice the cross-over chains than 4-link.

I'm in the market for a pair of 23x10.5x12 myself, hoping to stumble across some used ones before plunking down $50 or so for a new pair. :drunkie:

Get the tire sizes and then go to the Tire Chains website at Snow Tire Chains - TireChains.com.

Their service is excellent and they have all sorts of info on their website. They also sell chain repair parts, such as crosslinks and lengths of chain, plus tools for dealing with tire chains.

Good luck.
