Time... Time... What's happening....

Hi all...

I just ventured into my workshop a week or so ago, and everything was just how I left it a few months ago last time I was able to go down there.

Working two jobs is really making a dent in the "disposable time" lately -- however, after nearly two years of unemployment, I need to replenish the funds I dipped into to stay afloat -- who knows if work will go away again?

I'm trying to decide what to do. I've ended up with several orphaned LB's thanks to vigilant neighbors, and then the IH projects which I've painted, but that's as far as I've gotten. At the rate I'm going, I'll never get them finished.

I feel like I'm stealing from the community -- so many of you have sent me parts and decals and engines and things I've needed to get the IH done, yet it sits because I just can't get down there and work on them. When I do force myself to have some Lawn Boy therapy, I can't even focus. I move some things around and say **** with it, and go back upstairs.

Part of me says that the "right thing to do" is invite some local-ish members to come over and take their pick of what they'd like -- so many are saying "I wish I could find some nice LB's" and meanwhile I have a few here I haven't even had time to look at.

Next weekend if I have time (right) I'll go down and take some pictures of what I have, and see who is interested in what.

Thoughts on my thoughts?

I think we all go through this to some extent. Took me 20 years to renew my interest, thanks to this site and members like you.
You have had other things on your mind this year, don't just give up on a passion you enjoy.
And you haven't ''stolen'' anything.
If you need some help anytime, just let me know, I'm not THAT busy,
If is just a matter of putting things together, load em up and bring em over, I'll do it for you.
Ive had similar issues, mainly long work hours in 100+ temps and Im done for the day/week/month... But idle time will come eventually and you will have to put up with my project posts again. Like Ron said, stick with your passions or you wont be happy long. I cant tell you how many times Ive sold out everything just to buy it all back again. Each time I buy it back it gets more expensive. So hang on to it unless you just are sure you have lost the passion for it for good. No sense shoving it around forever if others can enjoy it. You are the one who has to decide in time.
I've got a bunch of Lawnboys I'd like to get rid of but since I live in the boonies no one will come by, so I've decided that I'm gonna donate some of the unique ones to the big museum called "Pioneer Village" in Minden Nebraska so patrons can enjoy them forever in the small engine area of the museum. There are a few OMC products up there already but I'm sure they would love to have some more.

If you are going to come up to Pioneer Village, please get ahold of me before doing so, I only live about 1.5 hrs. to the North and may be interested in some of your machines before you take them there.
Murph, Think about keeping 1 or 2 for a future project. Never know when some spare time may come up.

Sometimes we all seem to accumulate too many projects and we need to lighten the load somewhat. Just don’t forget that it’s a hobby to be done when you have the time, money, and enthusiasm. There is no pressure from the boys on MTF to get anything done on a timeline.
