Bosox I already tightened that nut and it is either too tight of the pedal bottoms out. I guess I will take it apart and have a look at the pads.

took it apart tonight and this is what I found:
-the pins were somewhat seized, I fixed them
-the pads do not look bad although I could not get the rotor off so I did not check the back one
-this setup has a washer against the slide pins then the brake linkage and the fastening nut
-I can tighten the brake until it locks the wheel and still the pedal travels to the floor, back it off and I have no brakes..
-the arm is moving when I depress the brake though.
HELP!!

On my tractor the pedal is spring loaded (forward and back ) and does travel to the floor , at bottom I can engage the parking brake. It's not like your car with hydraulic brakes. The pedal pulls the brake lever and then the spring absorbs the rest of the throw forward. I'd tighten the nut just enough to stop the mower and see how that works. Good luck :trink39:
