Hideous primer/paint job but the bodywork is actually in better condition than my 165, havent heard it run but it turns freely and has spark, gas tank looks rusty inside so not going to start it till I look into a few things. Paid $270, spent $98 on gas, came home and sold a honda quad for $500 so Im up a $102 on a day off, not bad for fri 13th

Congrats on the new acquisition Lance. I can see that grill moving over pretty quick and you will be tilling before the snow flies.

EDIT: Guess I'm the only one still up, or sober tonight. Looks like another '75 from here.:drunkie:

Lol, it is time for a whiskey I guess. I havent gotten around checkin the year, dumped it out of the trailer and put it away, somebody was on the way for that quad in the background, busy day.... and now a busy winter coming, still need a snowblower on a Ford before I can sell the Cub. I have the blower for the old Super RAM... probably a 4 hr job doing the driveway tho...LOL

Nice find. You did better than me on the 13th. I had a front tire blowout on my dump on my way back from picking up a snowblower for my JD. Stuck on the road for 2 hrs waiting for a service truck to swap out the tire. I cant wait to see what the bill is on the repair.

Good luck with the new machine

Thx AA, its primarily a parts tractor for my lgt165 project but its in good enough shape I may have enough parts left over to rebuild it aswell.

So that quad.... it hasnt run in 10yrs so not worth alot as is, and taken up space in the shop, thurs after work(3am) I put an ad on Kijiji for $500, friday am the phone starts to light up, emails comin in, txt messages... first guy I talk to around 9am, says on the way will be about an hour, 11:30 I give up on him and txt another guy in edmonton, says hes coming and then txtd me again about 3pm hes leaving edmonton on his way here, then txt me again about 6pm, he's in a puddle of tranny fluid on the side of the highway, 2013 2500 Ram with 11,000 km on it, about 70km short of getting here, but now he's not coming, so I txt the guy in my list, who earlier offered an extra $100 to be moved up inline, apparently he's doing weekends in jail for driving without a license...lol...but he can send his wife with the cash, I offered to go back to original $500 asking price if I keep the warn winch off it, and she did actually make it here, so now I have the $$$, and the quad, I wrote on the bill of sale he has 30days to pick it up, or I'll sell it again ;)

Wow, don't you just love trying to sell things sometimes! :dunno:
I understand how you feel, one time I even said I would hold it for a couple days only to have him change his mind and so did the other people who would have bought it after he called. :banghead3
Now it's first come, I don't care if three people are on their way, better hurry. Don't mean to be a ## but tired of people making excuses for not wanting to complete the deal after it was struck.
Hoping buddy comes to pick up the quad sooner than later. :goodl:

So Thx to SuperDave here at MTF I now also have a spare deck I can put on this tractor should I decide to sell it after I salvage the rear pto and tiller, not sure yet if thats going to be a possability or not but I couldnt have without any attachments, one step closer to having two complete Fords.

Thx again Dave:fing32:

LOL, a custom burgandy paint job might look good, but this was just a couple spray bombs of primer, and nothing was taped off, it looks pretty bad.

I really only bought the 100 for the rear pto parts and tiller to put on the 165, plan is to get as many attachments for the 165 as I can, still looking for a snowblower. "IF" there's enough parts left over I might rebuild the 100 also but its just a parts dept for the immediate future, and that may turn out to be the best value I can get from it.

Much appreciated Dave, that deck is basically identical to the one I have here except on the ford version the front wheels are also adjustable. The 100 already has the lift and pulleys so its nearly complete should I decide to fix it up, verdict is still out on that tho... gotta get the 165 done first.

and I still want that LoBoy... you should come look around here, maybe I got something you'ld like for a trade(since you wont sell anything)...LOL:fing32:

btw Dave... I stopped to look at that tractor down the road from you, nobody there but I left my ph#, its an old Massey-Harris 55 I believe, if you ever see any life around the yard stop in for me and see if its for sale, few other old antique pcs there I might like just for a lawn ornament if anything is for sale.

This just keeps getting better all the time.... it appears this K241AS and the K341AS share the same lower crank case, which means I now should have all the major components to rebuild the original engine that belongs in my LGT-165 and all the pto system to run the tiller with hydro lift... gotta like that:fing32:

Lance when you say "lower" crank case, do you mean the cast pan or crankshaft housing?
Since they are both frame welded pans, can you determine from the parts book if both use the same part # frame ? Hence same pan.

The head on a 241 is 9 bolt and the 341 is 10 bolt.

Can you see the block ends on your removed engine, Kohler casts K301, K321, K341 right on the block. Your comment on the PTO bolt pattern also has me thinking they may be different.

Both tractors have the same # on the frame, both crankcase housings measure identical in every way, including the mounting holes for the pto clutch, if there is any differances they are damned hard to find ;)

and no I didnt look at the manuals.... who needs instructions:sidelaugh

Getting me confused now.:hide: Is it possible you have a K341 (same as your basket engine) in the LGT 100? What about previous inability to reinstall the PTO block to block?

Instructions........we don't need no stinking instructions.:ROF

Boy do I have alot of catching up to do, I used to do most of my mechanics on my cars as a teen, haven't worked on internal combustion anything for decades, B&S, Kohler ok need to research, need to ask many many questions.
The biggest triumph for me lately was to replace the 19hp B&S in my craftsman with a 19hp B&S from a white, only difference was the exhaust and the white had an oil filter.

I will have to take a look at the 145 and the 165 engines that I have sitting around. see if the bolt patterns are actually different in the engines supplied by Jacobsen at the time.

Its the electric clutch that Im talking about having a differant bolt pattern, i have a 241 and 341 that are the same, and a 321 that is differant. The holes pattern is smaller by appox 1" overall on the 321. I now have 2 clutches but neither fit the 321 so I need to rebuild an engine to put in the 165

Also have to keep in mind the 321 that is in my lgt 165 is not originally from a ford tractor, where as both the 241 and 341 are from ford tractors, that may explain the differant bolt pattern for the pto clutch. WAG

I have too much other work to do outside right now but when I get a chance I want to tear down this 241 and the busted 341 and see what I have, even if I just rebuild the 241 and put it in the 165 at least I'll have a fresh engine and pto on both ends, with hydro lift. Might end up with an "LGT 1?5".... ha

I took the tiller off the 100 yesterday and lined it up behind the 165, everything looks good, need a couple bushings at the tractor end, its a Jacobsen tiller and not really a 3pt on it, more like 4pt, easy to make tho, and I'll make 3pt arms for my plough and cultivator.

The grill is far from perfect but its all there, got some cracks to fix, I'll make it work just fine. Hood is considerably better than the 165. This is still a very solid tractor, no rust, only the bottom of the batt box, everything else is great, but of course the batt cover is missing..lol
