Here they require 3 foot of cover and a horizontal separation of one foot between electric and communication if they are in the same trench. They can't be on top of each other. They have to be side by side. A natural gas line has to be in a separate trench. Water and sewer lines in separate trench. Any new construction, electric and communication has to be in conduit. Some places require in conduit and concrete encased.

If they have water and sewer there, I would think they may end up in the same trench side by side deep since the lines in the street are deep.

I understand that right they filled it with mulch.
Yes, it comes as a flat stock rolled on a trolley that is laid out on the intended perimeter, then that truck in the picture rolls around with large and loud blower and operators blow the mulch into the sock and fill it tight.

That's nothing new in the world of erosion control. But I have never heard of it rolled into a trench. Maybe I missed something.
I have even seen the sock laid out on concrete parking lot and covered with pond liner then filled with water.
Ever go to a home show or rv show and look at how the water displays where made.

Neither have I.

Big day at the end of the driveway (my permanent home driveway) they are spreading gravel on their driveway. And, they buried the gas tank along the side of the house.

Sky Dog Plant Wood Building

And for what its worth, they moved the dumpster again. Scout approved the work so far.

Did you ever determine the use of the sock? I could see it for soil retention during construction. But to bury a newly filled sock?
The sock is a twp requirement anytime there is soil being disturbed. It is to protect neighboring property from the result of erosion run-off. I'm not sure where you got the idea that any of it is buried. It is not. The trench for electric was dug, including going under the sock, but more or less perpendicular to the sock, so none of it fell into the trench. Sorry if I am the source of the confusion.

This house was not sold earlier as reported (by me), rather taken off the market for a while. It is back on the market again, with a slight discount over the prior listing. Here is the new listing:

That would be a bargain around here...any idea what the taxes will be like?
I'm gonna take a guess.....less than $10k. PA is cheaper but it is close to Philly. If that was around here, it would be $15K or more.

Sadly, I have a very good idea what the taxes will be like:

School RE $7,000
County RE $900
TWP RE $650

Each with their own millage applied to the County assigned assessment. Each with different collection agents, at different times of the year, and each with different early pay discounts.

While I do think white with black window trim looks nice, that is a heck of a lot of white to keep clean. My garage is white, so, it's probably a personal thing, but I get annoyed when it gets dirty. Luckily, the side that gets the most dirty is the rear.

I also never understood the absence or rare usage of windows on the sides of houses. There appears to be no neighbors within elbow distance, so privacy shouldnt be an issue. A lot of 2-story houses around here built in 70s/80s lack side windows and only have front and rear windows.

Mike514,

I'm seeing a lot of the white siding, black windows now, seems rather bland IMO.

I've always heard that a yellow house sells easier than other colors, maybe the green grass and yellow go well together. I myself prefer the earthtones.

Windows are expensive, central air has replaced the need for window ventalation, wall space is being taken up with big screen TV's, people seem to be getting a little more private at home although some put everything out on the net.
