Thinking about taking the cab and blower off!

Well, I was looking at the forecast for the next 10 days and only one day not over freezing predicted at this point. I'm considering removing the cab and blower to get a jump on spring. I realize this may be a bit premature but I'm not getting the feeling we're going to have any real winter here (maybe a dump or two between warm periods) and I have some prep work to do to get ready for PA plow day! Easy enough to pop the blade on if we get some snow!

Tim, It was in the 50's here today and was thinking the same thing this afternoon, but I think it is to early. :fing32:
:Stop: Please wait until 3/1/12
I'm really enjoying the weather as it is, :thThumbsU
you know what will happen if you do this any sooner :dunno::Disgus:

P.S. this is just another reason why we NEED more than one tractor :sidelaugh

I think it was close to 70* today here in southern Md .......

You can have all you want down there. I will keep my cab and blade on until April if it will keep the snow away.
Wait and see if that funny little ground hog see his shadow or not...

I am over here in Fort Indian Town Gap/Annville, PA getting qualified on a UH-60 right now, so the nice weather is welcome. Please do not jinx anything. I need it to stay nice throughout the month of FEB. I say wait until March 3rd. That's when I finish...:ROF:ROF:ROF:ROF:ROF

Yes. I am Chinook guy so it's an adjustment in size and power to me. Nice aircraft, I have to admit but I am a Boeing guy at heart.
Might snow now if it comes off, but I guess it's reasonable to do given the lack of snow this season. I've been thinking about putting fertilizer and stuff down earlier this year...
I realize this may be a bit premature but I'm not getting the feeling
I'll let this one slide. In the future, comments like that will pounced upon.

Well you've got to get some stick time in inclement weather if you really want to be qualified. Besides if there's enough on the ground the autorotations are much more fun!!!! :ROF

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe even sell the blower and cab. Probably the only way to get some snow this year.
Last time I saw something like this it snowed hard from March 1 through April 15th. You bite your tongue sir! :sidelaugh j/k LET IT SNOW!

Still won't work. :sorry1: I got Virginia covered, happened when I bought my x748 and plow last August. Told my wife that that was the best money I ever spent! :sidelaugh

It was 78 degrees here in Austin TX yesterday. Last year it was 17 degrees on this day. We never get any measurable snow, but the last couple of weeks of Jan thr the first couple of Feb is usually our cold spell. The 7 day forecast is highs in the 60s and lows in the 40s. I think we may skip winter this year!

I took the blower off my X500 last year in mid March after more than a week of moderate 40F temperatures. We got hit with six inches of concrete the next weekend and I used my rear blade to clean the driveway again. Never again will I take my blower off before April Fools Day. The blade took two hours to do what the blower could have done in 20 minutes. Look over my shoulder backwards gets tired after a few minutes let alone two hours.

It did not snow much this year because I got a cab this year :banghead3:banghead3
