Well, at long last, the John Deere guy dropped off the new x748 SE today! It's apparently missing one of the drift cutters but the driver was going to check into it.
What a beast this thing is! There was no snow to try the blower out in but in just cruising around the property it's easy to see what a different animal this thing is compared to my x300. The power steering alone is impressive. The 4x4 is as well set up as on any tractor or truck even that I've ever driven! It's also amazing how much quieter it is than the x300 both with just the engine running and with the engine and blower running. I think I mentioned this before but the seat in itself makes the special edition package worth it. Don't get me wrong, the regular seat is comfy but this just adds a whole new dimension to sitting! Haven't set it up properly yet but just as it is, it's pretty sweet! Very happy I went with the diesel for sure. There's no surging when the PTO cuts in and you can just feel the gobs of torque this thing has just moving about the driveway. Can't wait till I can put her through her paces!! C'mon winter!! I'm ready!! :fing32:
again I apologize for the crappy quality pics. My wife is visiting her mom today and has the only decent camera we have with her. These will have to do for now!

Congrats on your new x748 SE from a fellow Maritimer. They are great tractors. :fing32: Your question about the drift cutter, I think Mother Deere only includes one drift cutter with the blower.

Nice machine - congrats.

I remembered seeing that this blower only comes with one drift cutter.
You can see another thread over here showing another brand new unit with just one drift cutter.

I can only think it is a pretty feeble attempt at cost cutting and it is assuming that you are always going to the same side when blowing.

Seriously? They must have only drifts that are tilted to the right in Deere-land. Guess I'll have to shell out some pesos for the matching one!

Awesome looking X748.

When I went from a X540 to my present X720, I shouted out here loud and clear what
a difference those 700 series units are, and stall can't believe all those X300 & X500 aren't traded in yet...........LOL

Owning any 700 tractor is like when you had your first date. :thThumbsU

Thanks everyone...I don't think I'll out grow this one for quite a few years to come. thinking more on it, I may just take the cutter off and if we ever persistently get 3 foot drifts (not likely this year!!!!) I'll put it back on and think about adding the second one.

With any luck well get some decent snow and I can post some pics or videos of it in action!

My x728 came with only one and it works okay.

Rob
Must be only on the X728 or larger, none came with my X720.

I had to buy both and they charged extra for the mounting hardware........:crybaby:

Very nice setup, even with one drift cutter! :D I would be very happy to have a brand new X748SE as my last mower. I am 36 but I think it would last until I can't mow anymore. :)

Very Nice and a Great choice !!

But I have to say that if that was just delivered to me, I would have to scrape up every bit of snow on my land into a row and give that blower a try !!

Lmao...may have to do that tomorrow. I think the dogs need some more poop trails on the lawn! They're calling for snow here on the weekend so hopefully it'll be enough to blow onto the neighbors lawn!
