I used the 5232 to mow my whole lawn this morning. It's been raining all week and was getting high. I did not want to wait until the rain stopped so I figured the LB would be the best to use. The grass was soked and was misting the entire time.
This little guy cut the grass with ease and never once clogged or clumped the clippings. I was cutting off up to 2" in spots and it never bogged once. I did have the setting (throttle lever) on heavy, however. What a mess the mower was and my shoes.:thSick: Took me just over 2 hours and 1 and 3/4 tanks of 16:1 pre-mix. What a miser on fuel!
I cannot praise these mowers enough! Still can't believe it's only 3.5HP. I'd put this up to a DF anytime.
You didn't think I'd put it away all messed up. I cleaned it up after it was cool. I'll say one thing, it sure is easy to clean a mower that's been used cutting wet grass than a dry one! That is if you get to it before it dries!
I will soon have a complete bag setup, will post pic's once I get it all.

What an awesome mower! Great story also.

Let me ask, did that starter handle come on that or it it one you added? It looks larger than the one on mine.

Thanks.

It was a white one that I blasted and painted. I actually have the correct one coming with the bag. I'd bet yours is correct.

Don't quote me but I think it weighs 38lbs? I remember a list somewhere with the models and weight was in there. Regardless, it's VERY LIGHT!:trink40:

I believe its light. I have one verrrry similar. Like you, I love every inch of that thing. Quite possibly one of my favs.

Is that a 19 or 21" machine?

Nice machine, and looks like a job well done. Feels good to get out there and everything works like it's supposed to, even when mother nature (rain) is making things a bit tougher.

Thanks for the pics Murray! And the inspiration to get to work today! So many old Lawnboys could only be so lucky as that one to be rescued restored and put to regular use and care by you.

Thanks for the nice comments guys. I do really like this mower and will not part with it. I don't foresee anything happening to it as it runs sooo darn good. To think I almost gave up on it and was ready to sell it for peanuts.:banghead3
I'm up in NH @ my folks right now and my Dad wanted me to sharpen the blade on his newer Toro 22" mower. It's a decent mower but when moving it around it feels heavy as heck! **** good this it's SP!
Makes me appreciate the LB all the more. It makes me very sorry when seeing the new mowers offered and then using my 45 year old one that IMO is WAAAAAAY nicer and WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY lighter. Don't mean to exaggerate(sp) but it's true. It's a shame they ever stoped making such fine mowers.

Munderhill did you repaint this mower? If so is that Grabber Green color or offical LB paint?

Thanks!

No re-paint. It's original. Grabber green is not the correct color if you have this same year model. It's a color all it's own I'm finding out. I painted my bagger shroud last week with a (best match) green from a local paint supplier. It's not very close IMO but will do for me as I use this mower. I would like to have the correct color but not having luck.
