I just got a '66 7255 to go with my '66 7216 I just got done restoring. The lower handle is in way better shape the my 7216. The shroud on the 7255 is not broken on the hold down tab by the recoil unlike my 7216. I don't know if I am going to swap the shrouds, because they are different. The 7255 has a textured top and different front decal.

Does anybody know the difference between these 2 models? Was one a more deluxe mower back in that day? They both have the same features besides the differences in the shrouds.

I got this mower for $10.

I think that shroud came from a 1967,or it was late in the model year and it got placed on the 1966,,,
Nice mower regardless.

Not a real good pic here, but you can see there is something between the word Lawn and Boy,
old parts books are real grainy,
Nope, sorry, that's a different decal, will explore it more later.
I have a busted up 7255 in the barn pile, I will go look tomorrow and see what kind of shoud decal is on it,
Ron

Just drove out to the pile, my 7255 has a top like yours.
Wraps around the side ,on carb side says Finger Tip Starting.
Also have a 7258 the same shroud, I have no books covering that one,
Ron
