I am replaceing the headgasket on my 1952 Ford 8N. I want to drill and tap the head for a temperature gauge. I am planning on buying a replacement stock gauge for the Ford NAA, 600, 700, 800, 900, 2000, 4000 All Models 1953-64 from TSC. I was wondering if anyone happens to know what size tap I am going to need? So that I can get it ahead of time. Thanks for any information in advance. :fing32:

Hard to say what size as the gauges could have different sizes. The small should be a 1/8 pipe and the larger should be a 1/4 pipe. Get the gauge first to see what size wnd it has on it.

Well I decided to just buy the cheaper one from Advanced Auto. I like how it looks and it actually has numbers. Not just yellow green and red? And btw three size npt fittings. I used the smaller one which is 1/4 - 18. Used 7/16 drill bit. Worked out great.
