Hey guys, bought a Tecumseh Generator. Most of the low price generators are Chinese briggs or preditor, lifefan type motors.I convinced myself that Tecumseh is probably better and made in America. But I don't really know, anyone got an opinion?

Thanks for responding guys,i paid asking price $180.00 ,most that size ask $300.00 & up.I needed to buy a bigger generator to run well pump, for possible power out situation during wildfire. It will run a 4 osilator water system around structures.Last summer, out of the blue, they threaten to shut off power during high wind situations,in high risk areas of California.
#1-did not know that I have to ADJ.valves on flat head.#2-Use/history,original owner,he used it for camping, back in the day.#3-I have a 3/4 hp pump from a hot tub, easy to plumb in.Not sure how that would work with a pressure tank and 2 check valves, one 90 ft deep, have to reaserch this.#4-I also suspect Tecumseh is Thirsty,i mentioned that my robin Subaru uses very little gas, expecting the owner to respond about Tecumseh, but he got quiet. Tecumseh has a fairly long intake manifold, the carb on Robin Subaru,is right on the cylinder,Less atomization loss, plus 3.5hp.Bigger generators are thirsty any way right?

My dial-up internet was having problems with Surplus center website.Would have been interesting.I will run Tecumseh and get it really warmed up and also get rid of funny smelling fuel.
The page appeared, lots of useful information and a bizarre pop-up add, from the state of California,i guess suggesting that the Tecumseh engine will give you cancer.
