I added one to my 856. It wasn't an easy add-on tho.
It took some fabrication to get the hood mounted to it but it does open and latch close like it should. You need to replace the OEM axle pin as the correct one is longer so that it will also pass through the front quick hitch but I haven't found one yet, (it's been about 7 yrs or so) and it's held up fine with the OEM pin NOT passing through it. To offset the lack of the pin I drilled and bolted the quick hitch to the brackets that support the axle.
So far I've only used it to support an alternator/welder I fabb'ed up and it supports it fine.
What do you plan on using it for?

The front quick hitch was available as an accessory with these model numbers
8-5541 Use 85541 Replaced by 8-5551 85551
Toro changed the numbers by removing the dash (-).

You can view them here

You can adapt a newer salvaged assembly from a newer tractor. Does that answer your question?

Yes it does some what...I can "make it work" by adaptation!
