2002 JD Diesel 6 x 4 Gator - New to me.
After a complete service, minus oil change, I dropped the Dino oil and put in Rotella synthetic with a new JD oil filter. Noticed a difference.:eek:mg:
Previously, the clutch (both new & belt) would be slightly noisy, while idling, but once engine is warm, quiets down.
Now, its quiet from cold.
The engine is smoother when cold.
I figured that since it takes so little oil I'd go synthetic.

I did a 100% inspection, replace starter (63-64) Amps with 60 amp threshold, GP module, K1 relay, and a lot of hardware and rubber (everything was working but worn). Good Paint. bedliner. PO had replaced plastic, and paint was good, so I have NOW what looks like a new GATOR.

Had a tire leaking down (RF) in @ week, so put a $11 tube in it vice new ($160+) tire from JD and $12 installation .:bananapow

Starts on Bump, bookoo power, everything tight, no leaks - Awesome:i_praying

What a neat machine. So useful on the farm.

Congrats on getting a great machine. We have a 2005 6x4 with the 19hp Kawi gasser and love it. I made a hitch plate for it and tow everything from a cart with my Honda generator (my compressor rides in the gator) to a 55 gallon sprayer and the list goes on. I use it to haul gravel that I load with our 2320 haul water for the Llamas well you get the picture. I think these gators are one of the most useful things a person can own.

Enjoy a great tool.

:thanku:
I live in the middle of NoWhere Virginia. Nearest filling station is 7 miles, nearest shopping (walmart is 20 miles). Nothing but farms and woodlands.

Sunday and it was 90 plus degrees and the wife and I took a Sunday afternoon Gator ride. My gator has a top but no doors and W/S. We set out after church and lunch on a what turned out to be a 4 hour cruise. Riding hunting trails, gravel and paved backroads. Just enough breeze, cooler of water, cell phone. looking at paradise. Its amazing what you see when you slow down. PreCivil war gravesites, old battlefields...

Speed for most of the cruise was not wide open, just fast enough for the cool breeze. I don't believe I have enjoy a Sunday afternoon cruise as much as this. The wife sure enjoyed it, and showed her appreciation afterward.

She visits the neighbors with the gator, taking tomatoes, eggs and returning with something shared.

She thinks the gator is the best thing I have bought yet...:bannana:

If she's happy, life is good...:00000031:
