Would leaving the key in the ignition all the time lead to a bad igntion switch

any thoughts

I personally don't believe so. I think it would go bad because
of the repeated turning action of the key.

No, assuming it's in the off position. My key has been in the switch since I got it 13 years ago with no issues (well the switch did go bad last year, but just from age).
