Swisher trail cutter/ Sears garden tractor

Has anybody done this? I just bought a Swisher trail cutter and it has a lever that is used to engage the blade. The lever is designed to be attached to the tractor. I have a Sears Garden tractor. Has anybody been able to attach this lever anywhere on the tractor? It looks like it should attach somewhere on the plate between the two rear tires, but I can't get it to fit.

Well. we jury rigged it. Mounted on the tow bar.

Thanks to all who recommended getting a trail cutter. It's making quick work of the field and I'm not beating up the tractor.
