Seen that Winter thread and thought I'd start a summer thread since I mostly have summer here year round.
So here goes.

All my fruit trees are bloomed out with flowers and the Honey Bees are in full force busy as can be pollinating my trees. My long stem Rose's are coming on strong also after cutting them way back about a month ago. Should have Rose's again pretty quick. My hay pasture is waking up quick and the weeds are growing fast. I need to weed eat around the house already. Going to use the Cub XT3GSX and trailer to spray my barewire fence line today, I spray about 5000 feet of fence line 3 times a year. 75 deg for a high today and it has already been 79 a few days this month of February. Our summer runs from April to Dec, then Spring runs from Dec. to March. We have 2 seasons here and mostly its Summer. I have the Cub battery charged back up after leaving the key on and running it down. My oils are changed, air filter is clean and the fuel tank is full. Looks like my Cub is headed back to work for the long summer season. I added a oil cooler to the new Cub XT3GSX engine so maybe it will help it to run cooler oil this year. My climate puts oil to the test. We use synthetic oil here to help our trucks and tractors all we can. There is another cool front coming next week so it'll be back in the 60's. I have put a fresh coat of paint on the 2 story barn and have 1/2 of the house painted. Preparing the other half for painting so hope to have that done before the real heat gets here. I need to fertilize the yard and weed eat around the house quick its getting carried away with growth fast. Summer is about to hit here so the more I can get done while it's cool here in the 70s the better or the sweat will be pouring trying to catch up. I'm a Commercial/Industrial Air Conditioning man so you can see I stay busy here where we live. I keep my A/C unit at the house tuned for top performance for the wife. The factory's and large Commercial buildings A/C Chiller units run year round here with very little to no heaters in use.
My new Cub I got in Sept or Oct I can't remember which already has 57 hours on it since it gets used year round. I really like it over my old Husqvarna and you can't beat the power steering on my old arms. Yes Sir summer is coming quick here I'll be a busy guy today and thru the weekend. We made Alaskan King Crab legs and Shrimp yesterday for Valentine's dinner. We made them here at the house. The wife hasn't ever eaten King Crab Legs and she loved them. Hope everyone had a good Valentine's day as we did. Here's a few pictures of the Cub. Almost forgot work is sending me a Ingersoll Rand Garage Mate Air Compressor for my 20 yr. anniversary of working for them. It has a 2 HP motor driving a twin cylinder motor with a 20 gallon tank. It weighs 200 pounds so I need to make room in my barn for it with a dedicated electrical outlet. I'm excited about it because it'll make blowing all the dirt and grass off my Cub and JD tractor a lot easier than using my old little air compressor. The model is a Ingersoll Rand P1 51U-A9 Garage Mate. Here's a pic of the 2 machines that get a lot of use on my place.
I'll be posting lots of pics as my summer progresses here on my land so stay tuned and I hope your Cub is doing well. I'm enjoying this cooler weather while can.

Weather's been warm here yesterday then today a front came in and supposed to get freezing precip. Grass is dormant till ~April usually. I'm off today and will work on the 3240 hydraulic lift sleeve hitch now that I have a cylinder. I want to let the XT3 be a mower only to extend its life and use the 3240 for mule/grading/logskidding/hauling work.

Utter blasphemy!!! The winter zealots will have your head upon a pike soon.:tango_face_smile_bi

Did a little wander about yesterday and saw many of the trees budding and the various shades of brown & gray that what I call grass are becoming less and less and more green. I did mow a section of the right of way that was getting too thick last week. It has been a very wet winter here in northern Florida. I have a low lying area that while the standing water is gone, the ground won't even support a person. The area also has an 80 foot longleaf pine that came down during Michael that you just can't get to.

That was quite nice of yer company to do that, Mudyapster!
I just had a lovely debacle with air compressors in the same range as yours, myself. Got the HF 20 gallon oil compressor that ran fer a hour then died. Took it back and got another. This one couldn't make it past 80 psi before dying. Got my money back and bought a California Air Tools one that has been working fine since. Built a cabinet for it and now it is very hard to even tell it's on even right next to it. The powered vent is louder than the compressor.
The HF 11 gallon air tank for $40 would be a nice add on for you to add some more capacity.

That is a good idea if I find it not being enough capacity. I work for IR so if the one they are making for me isn't a good one they'll make me a new one. Mine is coming off the assembly line on the 26th and then being shipped to me. Compressor Cylinder Machine Wheel

I looked at the IR one and could only dream as it was way out of my price range. No, I am really quite surprised at the sound level now with my set-up as it is almost silent 3 feet away.

That retractable reel is great! I want one. Where did you find it. I also want to get a nice 100ft hose. I have a 50' Gates hose so I'm going to get another 50' hose for it.

No it has a 20 gallon tank.

They told me it is very quiet running so I'll find that out soon.

Just made a space in my barn for it so all set and I have a dedicated 20 amp circuit ready for it also. I don't need any extra hose I found my other air hose so I have 100 feet of it now. It is supposed to ship on February 26th I can't wait. Back to power washing the side of the house, preparing for paint will its nice out. 78 deg. right now and I am sweating!

Never a boring day around here!

Yesterday with the weather being so nice out at 78 deg. it was a fairly productive day. I prepared a spot in my barn for the new Ingersoll Rand air compressor that is on it way, finished power washing the other half of my house that is to get fresh coat of paint. Thru a few things in my barn away that have been collecting dust to long. Hauled all that to the front gate with the Cub and trailer.
Today winter is back, 40 deg outside and today's high is suppose to be 55 and mostly sunny. It still may be another nice day depending on the wind. I still need to fix a couple loose trim pieces on the house and apply a little cocking around some of the other window joints. That shouldn't take long then wash my Cub and give it a coat of Mequiars Ultimate Fast Finish. If the wind is nice to me then I need to wash my car also. I still need to spray weed killer on my fence line, but the wind hasn't been cooperating. Now Coffee time till the sun comes up. The Cub looks lonely in the dark and my Weiner dog is cold.

You just can't keep that cold stuff where in belongs in Texas, Mudyapster? You have to spread it about even to those of us that are undeserving of your largess. It appears that our forecast for Monday & Tuesday will have daytime highs & lows only in the low to mid 60's.

But today & tomorrow are in the mid 70's with a good breeze. Should be good for the solar linear dryer. The creek has finally dropped to a level where I don't need chest waders so I can remove the brush and saplings on my side of the almost vertical bank. Also have to get my new oxyacetylene set-up put together and working. That's the projects for this weekend. May also take the trike out for the first time this year.

Flaken a Trike ride sounds nice! Rhonda and I road my buggy Thursday. Land vehicle Vehicle Motor vehicle All-terrain vehicle Tire

It's still real wet here also with all rivers to the top and most still out of their banks. My pond has been over flowing for months now non stop and my creek is still flowing for month now which it has never done. It's a run off creek from the small mountain off the back of my property.
Either way I'll take my weather over the northern states any day. I lived in the non stop fridgide cold of Germany when I was young while my dad was playing war. I have no plans to ever venture the northern states any time earlier than July or Aug and I haven't in 40 yrs gone past Arkansas or Oklahoma. I like it right here in the central deep south!!! I like the green Pines and thick tree filled woods and fresh clean water from my well and fresh air to breath far away from any city!

Our temp is down today as well. 26 this morning. Mud you need to get that weenie dog a corn bag. We heat one up and put in our chihuahua's bed and she loves it. Did have to put it in a padded bag thogh as she chewed a hole in it.

My bro lives in ND and said he's sick of it. Ready to move to the coast. Said he's spent 40hrs in the tractor seat moving snow so far this year.

My trike may be just a tad different than what you may be thinking as the engine is me. It is what I used along with a trailer to go from CO to FL, a mere 2,600 mile jaunt.

Just be warned, Gary R C, that if you ever finally decide to leave that ice cube for more temperate climates, you will always take a little bit of Wisconsin with you. Usually, the first words out of anyone here is, "Where are you from!!!" Appears that I have a bit of an accent from the vocal cords being frozen each year for the 20 years I spent there before I realized I could leave that frozen tundra.

#33 ·
Too funny, Sergeant! Actually, the proper term is **** Yankee, which I often refer to myself as. I was corrected last year when I was told that since I haven't left, it's just Yankee. But still it is always, "Where are you from? That accent is worse than......."

Well the weather yesterday didn't cooperate with my pre-summer prep. 45 and rain. Today 45 and foggy, sun is supposed to come out around 9 or 10am guess I wait and see. The Cub is cold and wet, but ready to play.

#37 ·
Yeah, can agree with you there. Today is starting out moist, no rain but humidity around 100%, cloudy and taking it's own sweet time to get to 70° with a high of 77°. Got about a third of the creek cut down yesterday and do more with it today.

#39 ·
Yeah, well, the sun keeps trying to poke out every now and then and it did warm to 77° currently. As I set here drenched in sweat after clearing 350 feet of the creek bank, trying to cool down some. Luckily, I didn't encounter any water moccasins or copperheads as it may be too cool for them yet. I have heard that alligators are in the area, but think the creek is too shallow for them to keep cool. Oh, and got my second mosquito bite of the year!

#40 ·
Well dang it sweating already, creek clearing is a chore for sure. It is 53 here and cloudy at least the rain quit. I just finished power washing the flower bed bricks. They look a lot better I also power washed the car while I had the Genrac power washer out. Finished power washing the house Friday, but can't paint yet cause the weather is to wet. Used the Cub and took the trash to the gate now its break time. We have Alligators around here also along with the Copperheads and Water Moccasins and Timber Rattlers and Coral Snakes the bad ones, Black Widow and Brown Reclous spiders. All Bad varmits.
